    1. Open an Area Federal Credit Union Account
      • Visit us online, call, or stop into a branch to open a new checking or savings account.
      • Apply online Area Federal Credit Union and one of our Personal Bankers will reach out to you.
    2. Update Direct Deposits & Automatic Payments
      • *Don’t close your old account until all your outstanding checks have cleared, direct deposits, and automatic payments have switched to your new account.
      • Fill out the Switch Kit Checklist to ensure you’ve contacted all depositors and automatic payment companies.
        • Update your Direct Deposits: Use the Direct Deposit/Automatic Payment Information form that you received at account opening. If you did not receive one, please contact Area Federal Credit Union to obtain your accurate account information.
        • Update your Automatic Payments: Use the Direct Deposit/Automatic Payment Information form that you received at account opening. If you did not receive one, please contact Area Federal Credit Union to obtain your accurate account information.
    3. Close your old accounts
      • Once all your final direct deposits, and automatic withdrawals are posting to your new account, contact your other financial institution to close out your old account completely.
